PAR Maps
We’ve carried out some P.A.R. testing and provided a map for both of these lights in a 1.2x1.2m grow tent. Take a look at them both side-by-side, to see how they compare.
As you can see from both of these images, the Zeus 600w and the Zeus 600w Pro both provide exceptionally even spread. When looking at the data from these images, we can see that the main difference between these two products comes down to intensity.
So then, what about the performance difference between the two?
Lumatek claim 2.3 micromoles per joule on the Zeus 600w and 2.7 on the Zeus 600w Pro. While we’re simply not equipped to fully assess these specific numbers, we’re happy to confirm that the claimed efficiency difference between the two products matches our own independent test data. You can see how we worked it out for yourself below.
Zeus 600w
2.3 micromoles per joule
P.A.R. Map total: 42,386
P.A.R. Map Average: 662.281
Zeus 600w Pro
2.7 micromoles per joule
P.A.R. Map total: 49,587
P.A.R. Map Average: 774.797
The following totals represent (in percentage), the efficiency gained from the Zeus 600w Pro, when compared to the Zeus 600w (standard).
Claimed Micromoles per joule difference:
2.7÷2.3×100-100= 17.4%
P.A.R. Map total difference
49,587÷42,386×100-100= 17%
P.A.R. Map average difference
774.797÷662.281×100-100= 17%
So, now we’ve had a chance to play with these new toys, let’s conclude by going through our own recommendations on how to best utilise this fantastic new product.
Based on the P.A.R. numbers we were seeing under these lights, we’d recommend the Lumatek Zeus 600w for most growers with a flowering footprint of 1.2x1.2m, and a veg footprint of 1.5x1.5m.
For the Zeus 600w Pro, we’d recommend this ideally in a 1.5x1.5m tent. For a 1.2x1.2m footprint, only the most intensive growing systems would be able to cope with this light at full power. With that being said, the ability to dim this light, means that it’s still a fantastic option for 1.2x1.2m growers, giving you the option to push limits, experiment with hanging heights and increase efficiency further; remember after all, the Pro unit has a staggering number of 3,708 total diodes, meaning even more impressive efficiency can be attained when dimming.
Conclusion
To summarize, at £1.33 per watt for the Zeus 600w, and £1.45 per watt for the Pro, these lights really are a top choice for people looking for a quality made, easy-to-assemble, horticultural LED unit that will get them the results they’re looking for.
